XVII. LUNCH PROGRAM

The lunch program is budgeted independently of the school’s operating budget. It receives government assistance through the purchase of commodities and reimbursement for free and reduced lunches. It would be impossible to maintain the present price scale without this assistance. Lunch prices are set at the beginning of each year and reflect the budget for the program The success of the program is dependent of the number of participants.

Milk is included in the price of the lunch or may be purchased separately for students eating cold lunch. Hot lunch menus are sent home with students in the family envelope the first week each month. Lunch and Milk tickets are available in a Monthly or Bi-weekly format. Notices will be sent home with the student when the ticket is about to run out. It is important that parents/guardians promptly respond to this notice. Charging of lunch tickets causes additional work for all concerned. Checks for the school lunch program MUST BE SEPARATE FROM TUITION CHECKS.

Free and reduced price lunches are available for those who qualify. Forms are sent home at the beginning of each school year. We ask that each family complete these forms, even if they will not qualify for free or reduced lunch. Information in these forms is kept confidential.

Hot Lunch count is taken before classes start every morning. If a child marks hot lunch in the classroom, his/her ticket will be punched whether or not he/she actually takes the lunch.
