VIII. TRANSPORTATION

Playground Parking

Parents/guardians are welcome to park on the playground when delivering students to school in the morning and picking them up in the afternoon. All motorists need to observe a five-mile speed limit when entering or leaving the playground. Please see the parking lot map in the appendix for traffic patterns and parking guidelines.

Parents/guardians of pre-kindergarten and pre-school students need to be extremely aware of the need for a clear playground between the 11:15 a.m. to 12:05 p.m. play period. During the school day, those parents should use the side parking lot and the front door entrance.

PLEASE NOTE: Our playground has a Fire Lane that must remain free of vehicles at all times. Any vehicle not adhering to the proper parking procedures will be towed at the owner’s expense.

Transit Bus Service

Students from Hoquiam, Westport, or west Aberdeen may ride the transit bus to and from school. The school office has further information regarding times and locations of stops. STUDENTS MUST ABIDE BY TRANSIT RULES OR FORFEIT THE PRIVILEGE OF RIDING ON TRANSIT BUSES. For further information on bus schedules, call Grays Harbor Transportation Authority at 532-2770. Students, who ride the bus, may need to walk up the H Street hill to get to the bus stop.
